چکیده

Advanced technologies to remove organic micropollutants (OMPs) from municipal wastewater have gained much attention over the last decades. Adsorption by zeolites is one of these technologies. In this study, regeneration performance well-tailored granular loaded with OMPs was evaluated. The selected were categorized into three groups due adsorption performance: high, medium and low adsorbance. Gaseous ozone directly applied regenerate dried zeolite granules at an concentration 30 mg/L a gas flow rate 0.2 L/min (0.04 m/s). For high adsorbing OMPs, 45 min ozonation long enough fully restore their capacity. efficiency reached 60% after 60 ozonation. Interestingly, recovered capacities firstly decreased subsequently increased along duration. dramatically decrease most probably presence transformation products generated some OMPs. seven sequential adsorption-regeneration cycles, capacity for 75% duration in each regeneration. assumed accumulation only influenced 7 cycles.

Tailored zeolites for the removal of metal oxyanions: overcoming intrinsic limitations of zeolites.

This review aims to present a global view of the efforts conducted to convert zeolites into efficient supports for the removal of heavy metal oxyanions. Despite lacking affinity for these species, due to inherent charge repulsion between zeolite framework and anionic species, zeolites have still received considerable attention from the scientific community, since their versatility allowed tailo...

Removal of Emulsified and Dissolved Traces of Organic Compounds from Industrial Wastewaters Using Natural and Synthesized (NaA and NaM) Zeolites

The main object of this study was to compare the natural and synthetic( NaA and NaM) zeolites as absorbents in removing emulsified and dissolved traces of organic compounds, which appear in the wastewater of  power plants, refinery and petrochemical complexes.  The specific objectives of the work was: a) to select the best species that have the highest amount of absorption; b) to measure th...

The removal of heavy metal cations by natural zeolites.

In this study, the adsorption behavior of natural (clinoptilolite) zeolites with respect to Co(2+), Cu(2+), Zn(2+), and Mn(2+) has been studied in order to consider its application to purity metal finishing wastewaters. The batch method has been employed, using metal concentrations in solution ranging from 100 to 400 mg/l. The percentage adsorption and distribution coefficients (K(d)) were dete...

Removal of natural organic matter from aqueous solutions by electrocoagulation

Natural organic matter (NOM) affects some qualitative parameters of water such as color. In addition, it can deteriorate the performance of water treatment process including coagulation, adsorption, and membranes. NOM also reacts with chlorine in the chlorination process and may form disinfection by-products. The present study was carried out in laboratory-scale in a batch system using a cylind...
